FAQ

How many washes can I get out of my Minty Ride?

Our 200ml waterless bike concentrate makes up 1L of bike wash when you add water at home. How much product you use very much depends on how dirty your bike is, and how long the dirt has built up over time.

Our customers tell us the average number of sprays is 30 per wash, that's 27 washes per 1L and 75c per wash.

How do I make up Minty Ride Concentrate at home to make the wash?

Step 1: Take the Minty Ride 200ml waterless concentrate and pour into the 1L Minty Ride 1L spray bottle.

Step 2: Fill with water (clean, fresh drinking water, avoid rain or recycled water).  Try not to fill too fast so that suds don't overflow from the bottle but if you do, keep going as you want the water line to hit the shoulder of the bottle.

Step 3:  Give it a really good shake.  The Minty Ride Concentrate is dense because it's filled with quality ingredients to get your bike clean.  It does not contain any water.  A good shake will mix the concentrate with water and be ready for use.

Step 4: Screw the spray lid on and you are ready to clean your bike.

How do I use Minty Ride bike wash?

Step 1: If your bike has lots of dirt built up, give it a rinse with water to remove excess dirt.

Step 2:  Spray Minty Ride all over your bike.

Step 3: Using a cloth, foam up Minty Ride to clean the bike.  You might need a brush to get into some areas.

Step 4: Rinse Minty Ride off your bike using clean water from your hose or a bucket.  Leave the bike to dry off and look mint!

How did you come up with the formula?

When our chemists thought about really dirty vehicles, we thought of trucks.  So we researched ingredients that are used in truck cleaning products.  I also wanted the formula to be gentle, so looked for ingredients that came from nature.  Combining the two, my formula works hard to remove dirt, while being gentle and safe on all bike parts.  My formula is also biodegradable so gentle on the environment.

Do I need to keep buying the starter kit more than once?

Only purchase the Minty Ride Starter Kit the first time you buy Minty Ride, or when you want a replacement spray bottle.  After you purchase the Minty Ride Starter Kit, you only need to buy the 200ml bottle, reusing the 1L spray bottle with water from your home tap.

Can I use it on all parts of the bike?

Yes, we have tested Minty Ride on lots of different bikes, and it is safe to say that our product is noncorrosive and gentle on all bike parts including pads and discs and suitable for all types of bikes.

How do I recycle Minty Ride packaging?

Simply peel off the Minty Ride label from the Minty Ride waterless concentrate bottle and dispose.  The white bottle and lid can be recycled through your home recycling system.  The white bottle without label give the bottle the best chance of being recycled.  Please remember, the 1L Minty Ride Spray bottle is designed to be reused.
